Calculate Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine, and Reaumur | Convert Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine, and Reaumur

Now you can quickly find the equivalent temperature for all common temperature measurements. Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine, and Reaumur are the most popular, with Celsius and Fahrenheit clearly being the two most people see used in their local weather report.

More Fun Facts:
(OK,  so maybe they're not so much fun, but they are at least interesting, eh?)

Bulk email marketing and for advertising online Fahrenheit is the popular temperature scale named after a German physicist, Gabriel Fahrenheit, who created it in 1724.

Bulk email marketing and for advertising online Celsius is another temperature scale named after its Swedish creator Anders Celsius (1701-1744).

Bulk email marketing and for advertising online Fahrenheit's freezing and boiling points are an even 180 degrees apart, between 32°F and 212°F.

Bulk email marketing and for advertising online -40°F = -40°C

Fun Fact: The lowest possible temperature that could be reached anywhere, even in the farthest corner of the Universe, is absolute zero, or 0 Kelvin (K). Zero Kelvin is -460°F.

How can there be a minimum temperature?

The reason there is an absolute minimum temperature is because there is a finite limit to how much heat an object could lose - which would be all of its heat. At this point it's at absolute zero, 0 Kelvin, no atoms are moving, and all heat (and energy) is completely gone. But for anything to reach absolute zero, it would have to also be so isolated, so it could not be influenced by anything else nearby, which would increase it's temperature. Gravity will always stir enough energy to create some degree of heat. And yes, even in space gravity is always present, even if it's extremely weak by human standards. This is why absolute zero is so absurdly unlikely to be met. It's never been recorded and some scientists believe it's impossible to reach absolute zero, much like how it's impossible to break the speed of light. There are limits in the world of physics, or in this case, thermodynamics, and the rules they present may not be broken, or so we assume...

Fun Fact: Scientists have super-cooled testing materials below -459.99999°F, which is extremely close to reaching absolute zero. Unfortunately, the closer they get to absolute zero, the more difficult it is to continue dropping the temperature.

Fun Fact: To find Kelvin, just add 273.15 to the Celsius temperature. Then you can take that figure and translate it to Fahrenheit. For example, water freezes and boils at 273.15 K and 373.15 K respectively.

Fun Fact: There is no [°] symbol associated with Kelvin, it's simply represented with an upper-case letter K.

Interesting note: Some believe in infinite smallness, the same way we all understand infinite largeness. Maybe reaching absolute zero is so seemingly impossible because of infinite smallness, which really does exist. Afterall, the difference between two integers, say from between 1 and 2, can actually be viewed as being a universe apart from each other, if the distance is broken up into small enough fractions, right? It's true.
